Once in a lifetime adventure. Indeed. There are only 20 people in the modern world who has done this. Totally 875 km horseback in 24 riding days crossing all country from the Western border of Algeria to the East to the White Beach south of Agadir at Atlantic coast. For those who want to reset their lives or find out their true desires and goals, to challenge yourself phisically and mentally, to overcome and achieve, to experience ancient traveling style with all your essentials with you, to see as much as possible of mysterious Morocco. This is not a race or speedy trail. There is lots of walk and climbing (on and with the horse) but also stunning canters in the desert and long sandy beach. The trip of contrasts: you will cross villages, Sahara desert, palm groves, mountains and oasises. You will eat delicious Moroccan food, sleep close to your horses and feel yourself a part of the team.

There will be a total of 8 nights in a hotel and 21 camping. We have decided to have 3 breaks of 2 nights each time at the following locations: Nestrate, Tata and Osais de Tigmert and the last night in Agadir. Giving the horses and riders more rest time. They will have 1 full day of rest and the morning of second night be transferred back to the horses.  Program is based on sharing accomodation. Single supplement 800€ (single room and tent). Tents are either single ones which is on request included in the single supplement. Or we have bigger tents which can be shared up to 3 people almost standing. We supply the mattresses, thick and comfy. Blow up pillow not included.

Day 1 Welcome to Morocco

Your desert adventure begins as soon as you arrive in Morocco. We have arranged a direct
transfer to the Nomade Palace in Merzouga. If you arrive in Ouarzazate (OZZ), please aim to arrive
before 3:00 PM for the 5-hour transfer. For those landing at Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), it’s
best to arrive early in the morning, as the transfer to Merzouga will take approximately 10 hours.

Day 2 – Crossing the Ghis bed

On this first day of riding, Abdel will carefully select your horse based on your experience and
preferences. The day will serve as an initial test with your assigned horse; changes can be made if
necessary. Afterwards, you’ll head to meet the first desert camp for dinner and your first night
under the stars.

Day 3 Ochre Mountains, dunes, and the M’harch Plateau (35 km)

Today, you will enjoy a varied and exciting ride through breathtaking landscapes. We will cross
ochre mountains, sands of all shades, and discover perfect trails for galloping. Our picnic lunch
will be near the impressive Remlia dune. In the afternoon, we will traverse these captivating dunes
and follow the Ghris bed before reaching the vast M’harch plateau, where our desert camp awaits
us for the night.

Day 4 Jebel Zirg and view from the Lmaaidr plateau (35-40 km)

We continue our journey across the M’harch plateau, climbing a small pass to reach Jebel Zirg.
There, we will enjoy a panoramic picnic break on a plateau dotted with acacias. The afternoon
ride will take us along a narrow passage offering stunning views of the immense Lmaaidr plateau.
Tonight’s desert camp is nestled at the foot of a majestic mountain.

Day 5  Plain desert, total distance: 40-46 km

Today’s stage takes place on easy terrain, allowing us to enjoy long gallops thanks to the vastness
of the desert. We pause for a picnic under the shade of acacias, then conclude our ride after
crossing the beautiful Tismoumine palm grove.

Day 6 Crossing the plateau, distance covered: 40-45 km.

The morning begins with a gentle gallop that softly awakens us, followed by crossing the
mountains along a small trail offering magnificent views of the plateau. After the picnic, the
descent to the bivouac is on foot. Following a well-deserved rest and meal, the afternoon is
dedicated to crossing the plateau, with some short gallops planned. Distance covered: 40-45 km.

Day 7 From Oum Lkhab to the Nesrat palm groves

From Oum Lkhab to the Nesrat palm groves, a day rich in diversity. The morning starts with a
mountain crossing on a beautiful trail offering stunning arid landscapes. After the picnic, we enter
the palm groves, with their lush fields and lively atmosphere. We meet the local population, who
warmly welcome our riders with smiles. The night is spent at Casa Juan inn.

Day 8 Relax

Here, we will enjoy our first two-night relaxing stay at Gîte Chez Casa Juan. This guesthouse is
truly magnificent and unique, with each room carefully decorated, inspired by the owner’s
numerous travels and photographs across Africa. Prepare yourself for perhaps the best breakfast
you’ve ever had in Morocco, along with delicious traditional Moroccan cuisine for dinner. During
your stay in Nesrat, a taxi excursion to Zagora is included in your trip. It’s the perfect town for
shopping souvenirs, visiting a pharmacy, or completing other essential errands. If you’d like to
experience a traditional Moroccan hammam, that can also be organized on site.

Day 9 Nesrat – Erg Lihoudi – Total Distance: 38-42 km

After a well-deserved rest day, we resume our horseback adventure through the Draa Valley, a
witness to the local people’s fight against desertification. Crossing Jebel Selman through a small
pass offers stunning views of the vast desert. Just after the pass, we take a picnic break to
recharge.
In the afternoon, we explore large open areas—sometimes hilly, sometimes flat—giving our horses
the opportunity to gallop freely in beautiful open spaces. We set up camp near a well, surrounded
by majestic dunes and tamarisks, for a peaceful night.

Day 10 Erg Lihoudi – Oum Laalg – Total Distance: 40-45 km

Today, we discover vast spaces: to the left, imposing sand dunes, and to the right, the majestic
Jebel Bani. On horseback, we move westward, identifying several water points for refreshment.
By the end of the day, we pass near the sacred oasis of Oum Laalg, where we establish our
bivouac just a few kilometers away.

Day 11 Oum Laalg – Cheggaga Dunes – Distance: 38-40 km

This morning, upon awakening, we gaze at the Cheggaga dunes—massive mountains of sand
stretching as far as the eye can see. After about an hour of riding, we reach this impressive
spectacle. The ride continues through the dunes until reaching a shaded spot under tamarisk
trees for the picnic. After the break, we leave the sand behind to reach the vast plateau of Lake
Irikki, where we enjoy some beautiful gallops. Finally, we arrive at our bivouac nestled in the
dunes, a splendid place to watch sunrise and sunset.

Day 12 Cheggaga Dunes – Lmdowar Lkbir – Distance: 40-46 km

Today, we continue crossing this vast plateau. The morning starts with a magnificent gallop
through open landscapes before reaching our lunch spot at a well near the mountain of Lmdowar
Sghir after about 28 km. In the afternoon, we follow a trail through the fascinating rocky landscape
of Lmdowar Lkbir. After another 18 km of riding, we set up camp for the night near this mountain,
close to the village of Foum Zguid.

Day 13 Heading to M’ghimima – Distance: 40 km

Today, we traverse a large plateau dotted with acacia trees, offering a varied landscape. The
terrain alternates between rocky areas and ideal spaces for good gallops. After 22 km, we reach
our lunch spot. In the afternoon, we continue our journey across the Sahara, and after 18 more
km, we camp in the desert near the village of M’ghimima.

Day 14 M’ghimima – Kasbah Faija – Distance: 40 km

A magnificent day through the Sahara landscapes, following small trails, dried riverbeds, and the
beautifully preserved Tissint oasis with its ancient irrigation system. We dine at the second oasis,
under date palms’ shade. In the afternoon, we cross numerous dry riverbeds before reaching our
camp located near the oasis and the village of Kasbah Faija.

Day 15 Kasbah – Tata – Total Distance: 44 km

Today, we leave the palm grove to take a trail leading toward a low mountain dotted with acacias.
We reach a riverbed, then follow a rocky path to our picnic spot, at the edge of the Akka N’Ighern
stream. In the afternoon, our journey continues along the stream to a small oasis near Tata. Here,
our horses can finally rest, while our riders will be transferred to a comfortable hotel in Tata, where
they will spend two nights.

Day 16 Relax

Enjoy your well-deserved rest and comfort in Tata, staying at a conveniently located hotel. This
break offers you the chance to recharge and explore at your own pace before continuing our
adventure.

Day 17 Tata – Tazolt

After breakfast, we will regroup with our horses and remount for another day of adventure,
heading toward Tazolt to discover new landscapes and continue exploring.

Day 18 Tazolt – Tizouinine (38-40 km)

This morning, our route continues along streams dotted with small oases, where it’s even possible
to encounter nomad camps. After 22 km, we take a break for a picnic in the heart of an oasis. In
the afternoon, we follow the same route—an old track of the famous Paris-Dakar rally, also
marked by oases—until reaching our desert camp near a mountain.

Days 19 Tizouinine – Aït Oubli – Total Distance: 34 km

We continue on the same trail through an agricultural region, enjoying various walking paces for a
pleasant ride. After about 34 km, we stop for a picnic under the shade of acacias. In the
afternoon, a short walk leads us to a remarkable archaeological site, where we can discover
engravings depicting animal species that inhabited the region thousands of years ago. In the
evening, we bivouac in a charming small oasis.

Day 20 Aït Oubli – Icht – Total Distance: 38-42 km

An exciting day awaits us, with landscapes of finely sculpted rocky mountains carved by desert
erosion. We take a picnic break under acacias, surrounded by lush agricultural fields. Our
adventure continues to the village of Icht, where small palm groves brave the harsh desert. We set
up our bivouac a few kilometers from the village.

Day 21 Icht – Tagjgalte – Total Distance: 38 km

After leaving the small village of Icht and its lively palm grove, we start the morning with a ride
over a small plateau covered with acacias, perfect for an energetic gallop. Then, we follow a
peaceful stream winding between two mountains. We take a picnic break (18 km) in the shade of
argan trees, those precious trees that produce argan oil. In the afternoon, the adventure continues
along the same stream until reaching the plateau of Tagjgalte and its village. There, we set up our
camp for the night after riding an additional 16 km.

Day 22 Tagjgalte – Taghjijt – Total Distance: 35 km

Today, surrounded by majestic mountains, we cross a beautiful plateau toward our picnic spot,
located just before a small road leading to the village of Aït Illoul. The morning ends after a ride of
18 km. In the afternoon, our path follows a field before joining a well-used track that takes us
directly to the village of Taghjijt and its oasis. We will set up our camp here for the night after
riding another 17 km.

Day 23 Taghjijt – Igherm n’Igouzeln – Total Distance: 35 km

Prepare yourself for a truly picturesque day as we cross the lush palm grove of Taghjijt to reach
Igherm n’Igouzeln. After a morning ride of 18 km, we will meet up with our support team for a
well-deserved lunch break. In the afternoon, we follow the winding bed of a river, passing through
a small village before arriving at our campsite, offering spectacular views of the impressive
mountains of Agni Ouaarich and Mouchllif, after another 17 km.

Day 24 Igherm n’Igouzeln – Tighmert – Total Distance: 35 km

We resume our trek along the peaceful Wadi Seyad, crossing the region’s dam and water
reservoir, then arrive on a beautiful plateau where nomadic camps are often seen. Our route
continues across this plateau, near the village of Fask, for about 18 km. In the afternoon, we finish
crossing the plateau to reach the Tighmert oasis, where we will enjoy our last night of rest before
concluding this great adventure, with another 17 km to go.

Day 25 Relax

Rest and Relaxation in Tighmert, enjoy two well-deserved nights of comfort in a local hotel. This
break will allow you to recharge and explore the charming surroundings at your own pace.

Day 26 Tighmert – Zriwila – Total Distance: 40 km

After breakfast, we regroup with our horses and set off for another day of adventure toward the
small village of Zriwila. The day unfolds through varied landscapes until we set up our bivouac
near the village’s palm groves, providing a peaceful setting for the night.

Day 27 Zriwila – Labyar – Total Distance: 40-43 km

Today, the enchanting scent of the sea accompanies us as we cross rolling hills. After about 30
km, we stop for a picnic near the village of Labyar. In the afternoon, we follow a riverbed, creating
a sense of anticipation before reaching our final bivouac, located a few kilometers from the
famous white sandy beaches.

Day 28 Labyar to the Sea (44 km)

The fragrant scent of the sea guides us today as we cross rolling hills to our picnic spot near
Labyar after a 20 km ride. In the afternoon, we follow a riverbed, building excitement until we
finally arrive at the magnificent White Beach. Here, the vast sands offer an exhilarating gallop
before we set up camp in the desert or near the beach, after covering an additional 18 km.

Day 29 Labyar – White Beach

After a hearty breakfast, our horses, already excited by the fresh sea air, are ready for the
adventure. After a few kilometers on horseback, we reach the stunning White Beach. There, our
horses express their joy with a joyful, emotion-filled gallop right before our eyes. Afterwards, they
rest while we wade in the water with the waves to refresh their tendons and restore their energy. A
carefully prepared lunch from our chef delights our taste buds. After the meal, we say farewell to
the team and the horses before heading by minibus to Agadir for a 3-hour journey. Overnight and
dinner at the hotel, in memory of this wonderful adventure.

Day 30 Departure

After breakfast, it’s time to catch your flight home or continue your journey, marking the end of an
exceptional Moroccan horseback adventure.

The program can be slightly changed due to weather conditions or governmental regulations.

Luggage for this ride, no limit as it will be transported by our assistant truck. However, we would recommend not having anything with wheels. With the sand this can quickly become tricky to move. So, a waterproof soft luggage is best and easier to have when in their tents. Riders need to be able to lift it to their tents every night.

Local home-made food and soft drinks. We can not accept vegans, vegetarians are accepted within a certain limit. As our chef will prepare traditional meals which can include, chicken, beef, goat or for those who are curious camel meat. A delicacy in parts of Sahara. Lunch is usually served cold, salad served with rice or pasta with a traditional Moroccan sauce. Breakfast, is served with bread, cereal, coffee, cheese, jam and depending on the villages nearby pancakes.

Transfer from & to the stated airport, accomodation, guided riding program and sightseeing tour, food, trail equipment and horse rental, safety car on the rout included.

Travelling and cancelation insurance, airflight, visa, tips, alcohol drinks and personal expenses not included.

For your arrival, please book a flight that arrives at Ouarzazate Airport (OZZ) before 3:00 PM on
the first day. Transfers from Ouarzazate Airport are included in the price. If you prefer to land at
Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), transfers are available. This option incurs an additional fee of
€150, which will be shared among all riders using this transfer. However, please note that the
transfer from Marrakech takes about 10 hours, so you should plan to arrive in Marrakech early in
the morning to meet this schedule.
For your departure, flights on the last day should depart from Agadir Al-Massira Airport (AGA),
ideally after breakfast. Alternatively, we can organize a return transfer to Marrakech Menara
Airport (RAK) for your departure. This option incurs an additional fee of €150, shared among all
riders benefiting from this transfer. Please allow 3 to 4 hours for the transfer to Marrakech Airport.

For the riders responsibility: 30% deposit to secure your saddle, balance payment not later than 30 days before departure. Cancelation earlier than 45 days 100€ administration charge, cancelation in between 45 and 30 days 30%, between 29 to 15 days 80%, after 14 days and later 100% due.

For our side: the ride will depart if 6 riders book. If group does not collect cancelation from our side will announced not later than 45 days before departure without any compenasation from our side.

If the rider resigns from the trip once the trip has started there is no refund and evacuation costs and further expenses accomodation, transfers, food) should be covered by the rider.
